WElink Group: Investment Advisors to Emerald Capital

At WElink Group, WE believe that impactful investments go beyond financial returns. As investment advisors to Emerald Capital, our mission is to power Portugal through renewable energy while simultaneously enabling individuals and families to create a better future for themselves through the Portuguese Golden Visa program. This initiative, offered by the Portuguese government, provides a unique opportunity to gain residency by investing in sustainable energy projects that contribute to Europe’s clean energy transition, improve Portugal’s energy security and enhance its energy independence.

Understanding Portugal’s Golden Visa Program

WElink Group: Investment Advisors to Emerald Capital

Portugal’s Golden Visa Program has become one of Europe’s most attractive residency-by-investment schemes. Launched in 2012, this initiative allows non-EU citizens to obtain residency permits through qualifying investments in the Portuguese economy.

The program offers various investment routes, including donation to incentivize the Portuguese History, Culture and Science and private equity investments. Successful applicants gain the right to live in Portugal and travel freely within the Schengen Area, with a pathway to permanent residency and potential citizenship after five years.

Recent regulatory changes have steered the program toward productive investments that create jobs and support economic growth. As a result, investment vehicles that focus on sustainable businesses and green energy development have gained significant popularity among Golden Visa applicants seeking both residency and meaningful impact.

Emerald Capital: Where Purpose Meets Potential

Emerald Capital stands apart from typical Golden Visa investment options. Powered by WElink Group’s extensive expertise in renewable energy development and managed by STAG Fund Management, this CMVM-approved private equity investment opportunity presents a compelling value proposition.

With a minimum investment threshold of €500,000 for Golden Visa eligibility, investors gain exposure to operational renewable energy projects managed by a platform with an established track record. The strategy focuses on businesses making tangible impacts, particularly late-stage renewable energy development assets and energy storage solutions.

What truly differentiates this opportunity is its foundation in proven success. Emerald Capital builds upon WElink’s impressive portfolio, including flagship projects like Solara4 in Alcoutim, Portugal—one of Europe’s largest subsidy-free solar parks, currently powering approximately 100,000 homes.

A Partnership Built on Expertise and Execution

Emerald Capital represents a collaborative partnership between industry leaders with demonstrated capabilities in the renewable energy sector. WElink’s journey since its founding in 2007 has been marked by consistent growth and achievement:

  • By 2013, WElink had established a global pipeline of 750 MW in solar PV projects.
  • By 2016, the company secured a strong position in the Iberian and Italian markets.
  • In 2018, WElink sold a 46 MW project to Allianz, validating the quality of its developments.
  • In 2021, the company energized the 219 MW Solara4 project, setting new industry benchmarks.

As investment advisors to Emerald Capital, WElink brings this wealth of experience to guide strategic decisions, while STAG Fund Management provides regulated oversight and expertise in investment management and Golden Visa requirements.

Balancing Returns with Impact

For investors seeking both Portuguese residency and financial returns, Emerald Capital offers compelling potential. The investment targets a gross yearly return of 7% per annum, with income distributions planned to begin from year three.

The seven-year investment structure, with divestment beginning in the sixth year, is designed to align with the five-year holding period required for Golden Visa investors.  This Fund investment and divestment timeframe also aligns perfectly with the remaining permitting, construction and operational ramp up period of the project assets so that optimum value can be realised from the investment.  This thoughtful approach provides clarity on investment liquidity while supporting long-term growth.

Beyond financial considerations, Emerald Capital contributes directly to Europe’s energy security and renewable energy goals. At least 60% of investments are directed toward Portuguese companies, with a project scope extending across Portugal, Spain and Italy—positioning investors to participate in Europe’s broader energy transition.

The Numbers Tell the Story

WElink’s track record in renewable energy development speaks volumes:

  • 1 GW of renewable energy projects developed.
  • 219 MW current capacity at Solara4.
  • 100,000 homes currently powered, with potential expansion to 300,000–400,000 homes.

A Golden Opportunity for Meaningful Impact

In the evolving landscape of investment migration, Emerald Capital represents a forward-thinking approach that aligns residency benefits with long-term impact. By supporting proven renewable energy projects, investors not only secure their future but also contribute to Europe’s clean energy transition.

Through this innovative opportunity, WE invite investors to be part of something transformative—not just securing Portuguese residency, but powering homes, strengthening energy security, and building a cleaner future for generations to come.
