Objective of role

We are seeking an experienced solar PV Project Manager to manage the development and construction of a large-scale solar PV project in South of Spain. This role will manage all aspects of the PV project throughout its life cycle to ensure the project is completed on schedule and within budget, whilst minimising risk.

 

Responsibilities

  • Lead and drive the project from late development stage to completion within set timelines and to budgets;
  • Develop and maintain project plans, track progress and identify critical path and key milestones for the project’s success;
  • Coordinate on-site and off-site project meetings;
  • Liaise and attend meetings with relevant authorities including Network Distributors, authorities and partners regarding permitting, grid connection infrastructure;
  • Prepare all necessary documentation related to the authoritative process of the PV plant and connection infrastructure as requested by authorities or Network Distributor;
  • Manage and build positive relationships with other relevant third parties, including owner, EPC contractor, sub-contractors, suppliers and technical advisor;
  • Identify the sources of likely problems and proactively take preventive measures to avoid potential project risks, determine response actions to mitigate any negative impact;
  • Promote and adhere to health and safety and compliance requirements;
  • Prepare and submit regular project reports as agreed, on status to internal and external project stakeholders.
  • Ensure the appropriate level of project resources are in place to achieve all project milestones, in line with budgets.

 

Skills

  • Minimum of 5 years in Project Management with a proven track record of delivering solar PV projects, including ground mount projects over 10 MW;
  • Strong leadership and communication skills, self-motivated with demonstrated problem-solving capability;
  • Prior experience working in the Spanish (or Portuguese) solar PV markets is strongly desirable;
  • In depth knowledge of permitting and grid connection processes, in Spain or Portugal.
  • Ability to work in and across international and intercultural project teams and stakeholder management;
  • Self-starter with excellent presentation skills with constant attention to detail;
  • Flexibility to travel (Spain, Portugal and other EU destinations);
  • Strong organisational and time management skills;
  • Excellent working knowledge of H&S in Construction regulations, specifically CDM regulations;
  • Autodesk AutoCAD knowledge is preferable;
  • Experience in Ms Office software (Word, Excel, Project).

 

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or other related Engineering fields;
  • Fluency in English and Spanish (written and oral), Italian and Portuguese is a plus;
  • Excellent working knowledge of H&S in Construction regulations, specifically CDM regulations;
  • Autodesk AutoCAD knowledge is preferable;
  • Experience in Ms Office software (Word, Excel, Project).
